Plastering

Dry Lining

Dry lining is a form of cladding for internal walls, and sometimes ceilings, to prepare them for painting or covering (for example in wallpaper). Plasterboard is attached to create a smooth surface.

Floor screeding

Screed is a thin layer of material usually laid on top of a concrete subfloor. It can go in between concrete and other layers to help even it out or to provide a better surface for adhesives.

Coving

What Is Coving? Coving is the technique of installing small barriers lining the edges of a floor where it meets the wall (referred to as coves). Coves are generally rounded 45-degree angles which slope upwards, preventing a hard 90-degree angle where floor and wall meet.

plastering replacement & repair

When it comes to replacing, the general rule of thumb is to avoid replacing if at all possible. If you're planning to replace with new plaster work, that does come with the added perk of the texture matching across the entire surface; however, replacing also is labor-intensive and costly.

Rendering

Traditional mortar renders

Render is a mortar consisting basically of cement and fine aggregate, usually together with lime or a plasticizer, applied to a wall surface, generally in two or more coats. When correctly matched with the background, the hardened render provides a durable, weather- resistant finish enhancing the surface of a building.

silicone based coloured render

Silicone render is the finishing element or the final coat of a thin coat render or external wall insulation system. This finishing coat is both textured and tinted to any colour, providing an almost endless combination of finishes.

Stone dash - pebble dash

The term pebble-dashing is the application of small stones that are seemingly stuck to render on the outside of your house or any properties. Other names used to describe the process are harling and dry-hashing.

spray applied renders

Spray rendering is a quick and easy way to apply render, saving time and costs on labour. It gives a crisp, clean finish and comes in over 50 standard colours. This makes us very competitive when it comes to coloured renders.

Damp Proofing

Penetrating damp

Penetrating damp, otherwise known as lateral damp, is the development of moisture through the walls and roof or below ground area of a building. Like most cases of damp, if left untreated it can cause problems for the structure and significant damage to the fabric of your home.

rising damp

Rising damp is a relatively rare form of damp that affects the walls of buildings. It occurs when moisture from the ground travels up through the walls by capillary action. This means that ground water is effectively sucked up through tiny tubes in the bricks, like a series of straws. This water contains salts that also travel up through the wall.

woodworm treatment

The woodworm treatment creates a protective barrier, which prevents new woodworm from taking hold and laying eggs that can hatch into larvae. For this reason, it's an excellent idea to not only eliminate woodworm where they are located but to apply treatment throughout a household to stop any opportunity for outbreaks.

exterior damp proofing render solutions

When applying damp proofing renders, it is advisable to use lime based paints because the lime component allows moisture to pass freely in and out of the surface to be rendered whereas modern masonry paint create an impermeable barrier that prevents water vapour from leaving the walls.
